Scope and content:
The order books contain details of individual orders for funerals and carriage hire. In most of the volumes, a double page is set aside for each day's orders. Funerals are recorded on the left hand page and carriage hire on the right. In FRAS 900/6, however, a single page is set aside for each day's orders and funerals and carriage hire are not distinguished. Details recorded for funerals include date, name and age of deceased, date of death, name of cemetery and details regarding the coffin and hearse. Details recorded for carriage hire include date, name of customer, type of carriage and time and place carriage required.
