The Society initially published a weekly list of groceries and fresh provisions. By 1929, this list had become known as the food list and was issued either weekly or fortnightly. From February 1934, the food list was issued in the first week of each month only. An abridged pamphlet, called the weekly market list, giving current market prices of meat, fish, dairy products, fruit, vegetables and flowers, was published in each remaining week of the month. By 1936, these two publications had been combined into a fortnightly food and market list.
