D M Brown (Wholesale) Ltd was incorporated on 3 September 1940 when it was decided to split the wholesale and retail drapery business of D M Brown Ltd, a subsidiary of the Scottish Drapery Corporation Ltd. D M Brown (Wholesale) Ltd was formed to deal with the wholesale side of the business, while D M Brown Ltd continued with the retail side of the business. The company's registered offices were at Rankine’s Court, Dundee. In September 1952, the Scottish Drapery Corporation and its subsidiaries were acquired by House of Fraser Ltd, department store retailers, of Glasgow. D M Brown (Wholesale) Ltd ceased to exist some time after 1952.
