The company was established in 1865 as Dallas & Co. In c 1908, it was incorporated under the name Dallas's Ltd with registered offices at Milton House, 166-170 Cowcaddens, Glasgow. It operated a drapery store. By the early 20th century it also had an extensive mail-order business in West Africa. In August 1936, it took over Walter Wilson & Co (Glasgow) Ltd, which carried on the millinery business of the Grand Colosseum Warehouse Co in Glasgow. In June 1938, Dallas's Ltd changed the name of Walter Wilson & Co (Glasgow) Limited to Dallas's Colosseum Ltd.
In November 1942, Dallas's Ltd was acquired by Fraser Sons & Co Ltd. In 1947, Fraser Sons & Co Ltd was liquidated and its assets, including Dallas's Ltd, were transferred to House of Fraser Ltd. Dallas's Ltd went into voluntary liquidation on 16 November 1957.
